Kaduna State Governor, El-Rufai, Is A Threat To Democracy – HURIWA

The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURI­WA) has accused Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, as being a major threat to peace and the sustenance of democ­racy in Nigeria. El-rufai El-rufai The non-governmental organisation (NGO) called on El-rufai to modify his leadership style to avoid triggering civil unrest in Kaduna State. HURIWA warned that that any social-cum-religious warfare that is ignited in Kaduna would spread like wild fire across Nigeria. In a media statement by its Na­tional Coordinator, Com­rade Emmanuel Onwubiko and the National Media af­fairs Director Miss Zainab Yusuf, HURIWA expressed worry about the spate of anti-people and anti-religious policies being churned out by the administration of El-Rufai. According to HURIWA, these which include the al­leged discriminatory de­molition of the ancestral settlements of the Gbagis/Gwaris and houses of the very poorest of the poor. The group also condemned his anti-Christian policies.
