PDP Chairman, Sheriff To Leave Office May 21

In a press briefing in Abuja yesterday (March 29), the Acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustee, Sen. Jibril Walid says its National Chairman Senator Ali Modu Sheriff must leave office May 21. In a meeting held on March 7 in Abuja, the BOT has fixed May 21 for the national convention of the party and for the election of new officers. Sheriff claimed that some members of the BOT wants him to remain in office until 2019 but a faction of the Board vows to resist any move by Sheriff and his loyalists aimed at making him linger in office beyond May 21.
