Kidnappers of Nigerian Minister Demands N200 Million

Abductors of a former Minister, Iyabo Anisulowo, have demanded the payment of N200 million as ransom for her release, family and security sources told newsmen.
The former minister was kidnapped on Wednesday along Sawonjo/Iganokoto road in Yewa area of her home state of Ogun.

CCT Chairman Dismisses Saraki’s Application


The Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Dan Ladi Umar, has dismissed in its entirety the application of the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, seeking his disqualification from further trial of the case.
Saraki, on Wednesday filed an application to disqualify Umar, from continuing to preside over his trial. Ajibola Oluyede, a counsel to Saraki, who is being tried for alleged false and anticipatory assets declaration, filed the application shortly after the trial resumed yesterday. 

Former Nigerian Minister Kidnapped



A former Minister of State for Education, Iyabo Anisulowo, has been kidnapped.
Mrs. Anisulowo was abducted late Wednesday in Ilaro in Yewa South local government area of Ogun State, police said. The spokesperson for the state police command, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident to newsmen at about 10pm Wednesday.

A 20-year-old female inmate of the Aba Prisons, Blessing Azubuike who was arraigned before an Abia state Magistrate court over alleged child stealing has given birth to a baby boy. Sources at the Nigerian Prisons, Aba told newsmen that the mother and her child are in good and stable health conditions. Recall that Blessing was arraigned before a Magistrate court sitting at Osisioma Ngwa presided over by Chief Magistrate Grace Ukeje. She was alleged to have conspired with one Chibuisi Emmanuel Nnaukwu, and others still at large around September 2015 at No. 41 Umuada Street, Over Rail Aba, to kidnap three-year-old Chinwendu Divine and one Miss Ezinne Echeka, aged 16.

I Will Bring Herdsmen To Justice - Buhari



President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the recent upsurge in communal violence by suspected herdsmen, and has ordered the police and the military to “take all necessary action to stop the carnage”. Mr. Buhari’s directive, Wednesday, followed the latest attack, on Monday, in Ukpabi Nimbo, a community in Enugu State, where dozens of people were reportedly killed by heavily armed herdsmen.

There is confusion in Enugu State following reports that Fulani herdsmen have launched a fresh attack in Umuchigbo, another community in the State. Umuchigbo is in Enugu East Council Area of the State.
